Grouchy Old Woman
- Bed & Breakfasts
I have a five bedroom home on the banks of Daniels Lake, approximately 18 miles north of Kenai on the spur highway. I have two rooms on the lower lakeside that share a bath. One has a queen bed and the other has two full beds. They share a large family room and a kitchenette area that opens onto a deck overlooking the lake. Steps lead from the deck down to the path following the lake to the dock. This is nice for a family group or if you are traveling as a couple, can be grandiose space for yourselves. Upstairs, there are two queen bedrooms that also share a bath. These are open to the Dining/living room and the kitchen. The area has windows and a sliding glass door that accesses the wrap deck that overlooks the lower deck, and the lake. I feed the birds off this deck and have a varying bird population depending on the time of year. The surrounding area is partially natural wooded area, and some landscaping that I refer to as moose food. The moose wander through the yard and garden harvesting just before I plan to. Occasionally there is a black bear that passes through and in September I battle porcupine that want to venture onto the deck to munch the potted roses. I have lived in the state for 45 years and collected numerous art and artifacts from the North Slope to the Kenai Peninsula, that are on display. I serve a full breakfast unless you plan on leaving for a fishing trip or other outing before 6 a.m. and then I'll offer a brown bag snack to tied you over until you stop for better sustenance. A
